September
18 , 2007: The High Park T-Ball diamond was a busy and exciting place
in the first two weeks of September. The ten house league teams played
28 games in 15 days to determine the league champions for 2007. Each team
played at least four playoff games, but in the end it was the Dodgers

Weekend Filled
With Playoff Excitement!

September
16, 2007: It began Friday night with a game that determined the matchups
for Saturday. On Saturday 8 teams played quarter final matches with the
winners advancing to the semifinal games on Sunday morning. By Sunday
afternoon, only two teams remained in contention for the championship
of High Park T-Ball.
The weekend
was full of excitement. The outfielders surprised hitters by catching
fly balls. Two teams turned triple plays to snuff out rallies. Infielders
made diving catches and perfect throws to keep the scores low. Yet despite
the great defense many runners beat out infield hits, others drove line
drives throught the infield, and several players scored inside the park
home runs.

August 13, 2007:
The High Park T-Ball All-Stars travelled to Windsor on the weekend of
August 10th to 12th to participate in the annual Silver Tee Tournament
hosted by LaSalle Turtle Club. On Sunday morning, the Braves lost by one

to win their third tournament championship of the 2007 season. Congratulations
Braves, for a great season! And thanks to the organizers for a job well
done once again.
High
Park Braves Repeat as Winners of Ancaster World T-Ball Tournament
August 6, 2007:
Although High Park teams have won the Ancaster World T-Ball championship
ten times in the past fifteen years, every year a new group of eight-year-old
players has to face their own challenges. On Civic Holiday Monday, the
High Park T-Ball Braves faced a strong Windsor South Canadians team in
the final game of the 2007 Ancaster tournament.
After four innings
of well-played, exciting T-Ball, Windsor held a one-run lead going into
the fifth. With the game on the line, the Braves defense came to life
and held the Canadians to just 2 runs in the top of the inning. In the
bottom of the inning the first three batters reached base safely, but
only two scored, as Windsor players caught a fly ball and a line drive.
Then, with a runner on third, a High Park single scored the tying run,
and a hit to deep centre field brought High Park its second championship
in two years.
Thanks again to the
wonderful volunteers at Ancaster who make the World T-Ball Tournament
possible.
High
Park Selects Win AAA Championship at World T-Ball Tournament
August 6, 2007:
While the High Park All-Stars were playing for the tournament championship,
the High Park Selects were playing for the AAA division title against
a team from Windsor West. After losing their first two games on Saturday,
the Selects won two out of three on Sunday, and finally prevailed in Monday's
game to become the Ancaster AAA champions. This may be the first time
that High Park teams have won both the Major division and the AAA division
in the same year.
High Park Braves Win Both
Divisions at 2007 Erindale Tournament
15 July 2007:
Congratulations to the High Park T-Ball All-Stars and the Selects! Both
teams won their respective divisions at the Erindale T-Ball Tune-Up Tourney
held in Mississauga on the weekend of July 13th to 15th,2007. The All-Stars
defeated the Windsor Turtle Club All-Stars to win the Major Division championship
on Sunday afternoon. Shortly afterward, the Selects won a close game against
the Turtle Club Selects to claim the AA Division winners' trophies.
Thanks once again
to the Tournament organizers at Erindale Lions Little League who do such
a great job of hosting this tournament. Despite the rain on Saturday,
all the teams had a great time at Springfield Park.
